With the growing importance of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education and coding skills in today’s world, students would benefit from using funds from ELOP to provide engaging, hands-on learning opportunities in these fields.

Does staff need to have previous experience teaching STEAM or coding?

No! Our solutions provide all the resources and training educators need to get their students engaged with hands-on STEAM and coding even if they are teaching it for the very first time.

What training is included?

Free onboarding for all educators is inclued with each subscription. Each lesson or activity comes with teaching resources including lesson plans and recorded videos educators can use to guide instruction. Available asynchronous and on-site PD offerings are available as well.

What standards do SAM Labs align to?

SAM Labs' lesson content aligns to multiple standards including CSTA, NGSS, Common Core, and more.

What is included in a lesson?

SAM Labs lessons contain everything teachers and students need for success including detailed lesson plans, teacher slides, student handouts, assessments, and step-by-step coding guides.

How can SAM Labs be utilized outside of the regular classroom?

SAM Labs is versatile and can easily be used in a variety of settings including with multi-age student groups, structured after-school programs, open-ended creative challenges, and summer-themed camps.

Is lesson content available in multiple languages?

Currently, SAM Labs lessons are available in English and Spanish.

What devices do I need?

SAM Labs coding is a web-based platform that works with laptops, computers, Chromebooks, and tablets. Our SAM Space app is also available for download on iPads.

How durable are the Bluetooth-enabled blocks?

Our Bluetooth-enabled blocks are incredibly durable. We like to say that they are kindergarten tested, meaning they can take a beating and keep on working. If on the off chance a block is broken or misplaced, we’ll replace it at no additional cost during your subscription.
