The Lost Chick

In this STEAM lesson for Grade 1, Blocky finds a chick who has fallen from its nest and doesn’t know who its parents are. Students observe how animals are like, but not exactly like, their parents. They code a system to spin a wheel, construct a spinning wheel of six adult birds and draw images of their young. They then play ‘Spin the Wheel’ to see how fast they can match the baby bird to its parent.
